About a week ago the nest popped up with an error of e103 y1 wire has over voltage. The inside fan will run for about 5 seconds, the condenser does nothing, and then the nest gives the error that it can't control this equipment without wiring changes. I have tried many things to remedy it: New control board (no change)
A little bit of research yielded that it is caused by a voltage spike in that wire. I have restarted the nest and it continues to give the same error. I have shut off the breaker to my a/c and heater and powered back on and still same error. Open the nest app tap settings. Tap thermostat wiring update wiring. Update any incorrect wiring information. Check your thermostat for a c wire 2. Take the power readings of the nest thermostat go to > settings> tech info > power> if the power info its low than that or 0 its a power sharing issue , you can take the y1 out , place it back in ,. Nest says the e103 error is the fault of the hvac technicians.
